Oromia Regional State and Liaoning Province held their first discussion to establish partnership via a webinar facilitated by Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing.
H.E Ambassador Teshome Toga, Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to China, Ms. Luo Li, Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Province, Mr. Moges Edo, Head of Oromia President Office and higher officials from the two sides were participated at the program.

In his opening remark, Ambassador Teshome Toga noted that Ethiopia and China have long enjoyed and still continue to enjoy a strong and fruitful bilateral diplomatic relation. Particularly, since the past two and half decades, China has become strategic partner for Ethiopia’s economic growth and development aspirations, He added.
Ambassador Teshome mentioned that the relationship between the two countries elevated to a higher level of Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership giving their diplomatic ties a huge boost and paved the way for even a greater political, diplomatic, economic and people-to-people exchanges and connectivity between the two.
Stating that Oromia Regional State and Liaoning Province have untapped potentials to work together on varies fields including Investment and Trade, Infrastructural Development, Culture and Tourism, Education and Health, the Ambassador reassured them that the embassy will provide all necessary assistance to both sides to see the success of partnership.
Ms. Luo Li, Director General of Foreign Affairs Office of Liaoning Province, on her part thanked the Embassy for making the huge efforts to bring the two regions together and noted that the relationship between China and Ethiopia is stronger than ever, creating a favorable environment for working together.
In addition, she said that Liaoning Province has made great progress among others in agriculture, mining, education and health as well as science and technology sectors and they are very keen to work in cooperation with the Oromia region.
Mr, Moges Edo, on his part also said that China has significant potentials and experiences in multiple sectors and expressed the keen interest and readiness to closely collaborate with Liaoning Province to enhance mutual benefits.
In the forum, a presentation was made showing the untapped potentials of the Oromia region and the Liaoning Province, and has reached common consensus to sign a memorandum of understanding recently.
