On March 13, 2023, H.E. Ambassador Tefera Derbew Yimam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the People’s Republic of China presented a copy of his credential to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China in Beijing.
On the occasion Mr. Hong Lei, Director General for the Protocol Department, congratulated the ambassador for his new tenure in China. The Director General assured that he is always ready to work closely with the new ambassador of Ethiopia for mutual benefit of the two sisterly countries.
Ambassador Terera, on his part expressed his appreciation to the Director General for the effort that exerted to enhance the relationship between the two countries.
After submission of his credential copy, ambassador Tefera also paid a courtesy call with Mr. Wu Peng, Director General of African Affairs of China. Mr. Wu Peng emphasized the importance of the official visit of H.E. Qin Gang, Minister of Foreign Affairs of China in Ethiopia at the beginning of his ministerial tenure in January 2023.
He also expresses his hope that, the existing good relations between the two countries will further strengthen at the time of the Ambassador staying in China. Furthermore, he promised to work closely with the ambassador for the mutual benefit of the two countries.
Ambassador Tefera on his part, expressed his appreciation for the warm welcoming and the existing good relation between the two countries. He also expressed that the government of Ethiopia seeks to further strengthen the bilateral relations with the government of China.
