On June 2, 2024, H.E. Ambassador Tefera Derbew delivered a keynote speech at the closing ceremony of the Seminar on Management Capability of VIP Protection for Ethiopian Police Officers II at the People’s Public Security University of China (PPSUC) in Beijing.

During the occasion, H.E. Ambassador Tefera congratulated the graduates on their dedication and tireless effort during their training. He encouraged them to practically apply the knowledge and skills they acquired and transfer them back to Ethiopia.
H.E. Ambassador also highlighted the strong relationship between Ethiopia and China, noting that both countries have elevated their ties to an all-weather strategic partnership following the official visit of H.E. Dr. Abiy Ahmed, Prime Minister of Ethiopia, to China in October 2023.
He expressed his gratitude to the university administration, emphasizing that this training significantly contributes to the people-to-people-relations between the two friendly countries. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Goa Junyi, Deputy Director-General of the International Cooperation Department, Ministry of Public Security, Mr. Xu Kai, Vice President for International Business and Mr. Cao Shiquan, President of the PPSUC.
