On May 24, 2024, the Ethio-China Business Forum was held. During the forum, held in Ethiopian Embassy premises, H. E. Ambassador Tefera Derbew underscored the strong bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and China.

He noted that the two countries elevated their ties to an All-weather Strategic Partnership in October 2023, following Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed’s official visit to China, a testament to the deep and enduring connections between the nations.

Ambassador Tefera elaborated on the significant trade and investment opportunities in Ethiopia, emphasizing its strategic location and abundant renewable energy resources. He highlighted the vast and promising potential in Ethiopia’s green energy, agriculture and mining sectors. Additionally, the Ambassador underscored Ethiopia’s active role in the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), noting Ethiopia’s crucial role in strengthening China-Africa relations.

In conclusion, Ambassador Tefera extended an invitation to all Chinese investors to go for a pre-investment visit to Ethiopia to join hand and contribute in boosting the economic relation between the two countries.
