The Embassy participated on the 9th China International E-commerce Exhibition held in Hangzhou city, the capital of Zhejiang Province, from 3 – 5 August 2022.
During the opening ceremony, Ambassador Dawano Kedir – who is the Deputy Head of Mission, highlighted on Ethiopia’s efforts in diversifying its export product items on the Chinese e-commerce platforms and he called on the Chinese companies with the experience in the sector to assist in increasing the country’s export product items access and presence across e-commerce platforms.
In addition, coffee and other Ethiopian export product items were showcased on the exhibition.
Furthermore, in a side line meeting conducted during the exhibition, Ambassador Dawano met with the Mayor of Hangzhou City along with officials and representatives from the Zhejiang Foreign Affairs Office, Zhejiang-Africa Trade Service Center and the Alibaba group, and discussed on way of further strengthening cooperation in the e-commerce sector.
