On August 29, 2023, H.E. Ambassador Tefera Derbew, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the People’s Republic of China, discussed with Mr. Xu Guangwei, the Vice Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Harbin Municipal People’s Government in China, focusing on ways to coordinate the Municipality with Ethiopian counterpart for future cooperation.
The ambassador thanked the vice director to have made a courtesy visit to the Ethiopian Embassy in Beijing and to warm hospitality accorded to him during his working visit in Harbin. He further pointed out the potential areas of cooperation such as tourism, culture and trade where partnership with Ethiopian cities of interest can be established.
Mr. Xu Guangwei, on his part, stated that the municipality has a plan to visit Ethiopia in the coming months with a working team and high level delegation to coordinate with some Ethiopian municipalities to establish a twinning partnership.
H.E. Ambassador Tefera also assured the vice director that the Embassy is ready to facilitate the planned visit of the municipality and promised to work more closely to enhance the cooperation to a higher level.
