During the “China-Africa Textile and Apparel Investment and Trade Symposium” which was held today as a part of 3rd China-Africa Economic and Trade Expo in Changsha City, Plenipotentiary and Extraordinary Ambassador of Ethiopia to China, H.E. Tefera Deribew, calls up on Chinese Textile, Apparel and Garment Manufacturers to intensify their investment in Ethiopia. The symposium was presided by Vice-minister of Commerce of China, H.E. Li Fei and Ministers and Ambassadors of the several African countries.
In his keynote address Ambassador Tefera noted, textile and apparel as a key manufacturing industry that resonates the successful Chinese companies’ investment in Africa. While emphasizing the potential of value addition that could be created along this sector crucial for job creation and maximizing benefits, he gave a deliberation on Ethiopia’s target to become a leading textile and apparel manufacturing hub in Africa by 2030.
Furthermore, Ambassador presented Ethiopia’s conducive investment environment and the lucrative business opportunities that exists in textile and apparel sector.
