Upon invitation of H.E. Liang jie, director of the foreign affairs office of the Henan Provincial Party Committee, H.E. Ambassador Tefera Derbew, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the People’s Republic of China, has visited Henan province of China from June 7 to 9/2023.
During his visit he discussed with the officials the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between China and Ethiopia in general and the practical cooperation between Henan Province and Ethiopia in various fields such as vocational education, agricultural development, infrastructure construction and medical assistance that yielded fruitful results, benefiting the two peoples.
He further pointed out that Chinese-funded enterprises, including enterprises from Henan Province, have undertaken a large number of projects in Ethiopia over the years, making important contributions to promoting local economic and social development and improving people’s well-being. It is hoped that Henan Province will strengthen cooperation with Ethiopia in various fields, and the embassy is willing to play a bridge role and work with the Foreign Affairs Office of Henan Provincial Party Committee to promote bilateral cooperation and exchanges in various fields and at a deep level.
During his stay in Henan, Ambassador Tefera Derbew has also met with Cai Hong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of Zhengzhou Municipal People’s Congress, and Liu Zhen, Vice Mayor of Kaifeng, respectively, and exchanged views on deepening mutually beneficial cooperation and friendly exchanges. He also attended the China-Ethiopia “Chinese + Vocational Skills Project,” which promoted the in-depth development of China-Ethiopia cooperation on vocational education. He also visited the Yellow River Water Conservancy Vocational Technical College, Henan Agricultural Vocational College, Wan bang Group and Henan Vocational and Technical College to seek new opportunities for cooperation in vocational education, agriculture and science and technology.
