On August 25, 2023, H.E. Ambassador Tefera Derbew, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to the People’s Republic of China, had a fruitful discussion with Mr. Peiying Guan, General Secretary of the Home Furniture Industry Committee of China International Cooperation Association of SMEs, and also discussed with the Chairmen of three furniture companies.
The Ambassador highlighted Ethiopia’s favorable investment potential and opportunities and further elaborated on the untapped resources that Ethiopia has to contribute to the furniture industry. He called on the association to provide its support for investors to make Ethiopia as a primary investment destination.
Mr. Peiying Guan on his side, said that given the exemplary of trade and investment partnership between the two countries, Chinese furniture enterprises keen to invest in Ethiopia. He expressed his commitment to work jointly with Ethiopian Embassy for the benefit of the two countries and promised in promoting Ethiopian Investment opportunities for member Chinese furniture companies.
From the discussion, the Chairman of Beijing Holzer Home Furnishing Technology Co., Ltd., the Chairman of Beijing Kaidi Yiju Home Furnishing Co., Ltd., and the Chairman of Jinhua WanGe Industrial & Trade Co., Ltd. highlighted the experience and capacity of their companies and showed their interest to have a pre-investment visit to Ethiopia in the near time.
