H.E. Ambassador Tefera Debrew, head of the mission, held a productive meeting in his office with a delegation from Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China. Their discussion focused on cooperation between the two countries in ICT, digitalization, and investments, and also highlighted the BRICS initiatives program this year
Ms. Zhu Keer, Deputy Director General of International Cooperation, emphasized the strong bilateral relationship between Ethiopia and China. She noted that 2023 marked the elevation of the relationship to an all-weather strategic partnership following the meeting of the two leaders at the BRI forum, and highlighted Ethiopia’s joining of the BRICS countries on January 1st, 2024.
H.E. Ambassador Tefera reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment and desire to work with China both bilaterally and multilaterally, welcoming the initiatives from the Ministry. He assured the delegation of the Embassy’s readiness to provide necessary assistance.
